Gavel prices document automation in four tiers. Lite is $83 a month, Pro is $290, and Scale starts at $417 a month billed annually only. Every tier offers a 7-day trial with no credit card, and annual plans paid upfront get two months free.

One thing worth flagging, because it is on Gavel's own page: the Standard tier is listed as $210 a month in the plan cards and as $165 a month in the comparison table further down the same page. We are not going to guess which is right. Ask Gavel to confirm Standard in writing before you commit, and read the number on your own checkout screen rather than the marketing page.

What actually separates the tiers is seats and workflows, not features. Lite gives you 1 builder seat and 10 workflows with 200 fields each. Standard adds a second builder seat and Data Manager access plus Zapier. Pro adds legal templates, commerce tools, white-label embedding and a DocuSign integration. Scale is the one with the API and per-seat pricing.

For a solo practice automating a handful of Word and PDF documents, Lite at $83 is the honest entry. The jump to Pro at $290 is worth it only if you intend to sell documents to clients through the commerce tools or embed the forms in your own site.
