Who makes this

ToolsRay is run by one person. There is no team, no investor, and no agency behind it. If something on this site is wrong, it is my mistake, and the fastest way to get it fixed is to email me.

Why it exists

Search for the best tools in your field and you get the same two things: a hype list written by someone who never opened the software, or a thin page built to collect a commission. Neither answers the question people actually ask, which is not "what is the best CRM" but "what do other people in my job use, and what does it cost me."

So ToolsRay is organised by profession rather than by category. A recruiter and a real-estate agent both need a CRM, but they do not need the same one, and a single ranked list is useless to both.

How a tool gets listed

Tools are added because people in that profession use them, not because the vendor asked or pays. Each entry gets a plain description, real pros, real cons, and the starting price. Where a tool is a poor fit for most readers, the page says so.

The order within a category is editorial. Paying us more does not move a tool up, and there is no way to buy a placement on this site today. If that ever changes, sponsored entries will carry a label that says so.

How pricing is checked, and where it can be wrong

Prices come from the vendor's own pricing page, read by hand, in US dollars, using the lowest advertised paid tier. Free trials are not counted as free plans. Where a page quotes exact figures, it also says the date they were checked.

The honest limitation: software pricing changes without notice and a page checked in July can be out of date by September. Treat any figure here as a starting point and confirm it on the vendor's site before you buy. If you find a stale number, tell me and I will fix it.

How the money works

Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the vendor may pay a commission and you pay the same price either way. Right now that applies to 58 of the 285 tools listed, so most of what you read here earns nothing. The full terms are in theaffiliate disclosure.

There are no display ads, no pop-ups, no newsletter wall, and no data sold to anyone. Commissions are what keep it that way.

What is still missing

This site is young and it shows. Nine professions are live and more are planned. Coverage inside each one is uneven, some entries are thinner than they should be, and hands-on testing is limited to the tools I have used myself. I would rather say that plainly than pretend to an authority the site has not earned yet.
