Printful shipping: how long orders actually take
The mistake most sellers make is quoting the shipping time to their customer and forgetting the fulfilment time in front of it. With print on demand nothing exists until the order is placed, so the clock has two parts.
Part one, fulfilment: 2 to 5 business days to make the product. This happens before anything is handed to a carrier.
Part two, shipping, counted from the end of fulfilment. For US and Canadian domestic orders, Flat Rate is 3 to 4 business days and Express is 1 to 3. There is also a standard rate with CO2 offsetting at the same 3 to 4 days.
International is where expectations break. From the US or Canada, Flat Rate runs 5 to 20 business days, Express 1 to 3, and Canada-only Standard DDP 3 to 5, stretching to 12 for the Atlantic region. Shipping from Europe is the same picture: Flat Rate 5 to 20 business days, Express 1 to 3, and a UK-only Standard DDP at 3 to 7.
So a European customer on the cheapest option can wait 25 business days in the worst case, five for fulfilment and twenty for transit. That is five calendar weeks. If your store promises delivery in two weeks, that promise is not yours to make.
Printful also restricts some destinations for legal and carrier reasons, including the Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine, and the list changes with world events. Check it before opening your store to worldwide shipping.
