Omnisend email marketing: the billing detail that catches people out
Omnisend runs email, SMS and web push from one place and is built for online stores rather than for newsletters in general. The free tier gives you 500 emails a month, which is enough to test the automations and not much more.
Read the billing rule before you scale. You are charged for subscribers and for non-subscribers who received an automated message. Contacts who have unsubscribed are not billed. That matters because abandoned-cart and order-follow-up flows reach people who never joined a list, and those people land on your invoice. A store with 4,000 buyers and 1,000 subscribers is not paying for 1,000.
Two things Omnisend does not gate behind the expensive tier, which is unusual. Live chat and email support are 24/7 on every plan including the free one. And migration is done for you, contacts, automations, lists and templates, at no cost, over about five days.
Dedicated account experts are reserved for accounts paying at least $400 a month, so at small volumes you are on standard support, which is at least genuinely staffed. Removing the "Powered by Omnisend" badge requires a paid plan.
